FRIENDSHIP DAY: Traditionally held annually on the second Saturday of the month of May. Starting at 12.45pm, it is a fun afternoon with Lucky Door prizes and Raffle prizes. Open to all interested folks and other garden club members from Queensland and elsewhere. Admission is by invitation from or pre-registration with the president or secretary.
Come and join us at our society meeting for an informative, fun-filled day with yummy food and nice raffles as well as Bryan Hillier and Bronwyn Hillier as Guest Speakers, and Dracaena or Cordyline as Plant of the Month.
Bryan’s been strongly involved in the Nursery and Garden Industry for some 30 years. He was the Nursery and Garden Industry Queensland President a few years ago, and just stepped down in November 2011 from 6 years of service at National level in his roles as Nursery & Garden Industry Australia Board Member, Vice-President and President, as well as a Board Member for the National Industry Advisory Council (IAC Committee) for several years.
He’s passionate about plants, gardening and business … and he also LOVES his fishing too, when he can find the time.

yes, but who is Brian Hillier and what will he be speaking on???? When we got the list of speakers at the start of the year there was no mention of what each person was speaking on – unless you have heard these people speak before you have no idea if its about a particular plant or a craft or a song perhaps? Puts me off as I dont know what Im going to hear about. I would rather know the subject of the talk rather than the person speaking as it means nothing to me.

As for your question about whom Bryan Hillier is, I have included a brief introduction about him, though you would need to attend the meeting this Saturday on 12 May 2012 to find out from the horse’s mouth about what the Hilliers do and what tickles them.
You could be pleased to know that I shall post guest speakers’ notes or essays to the Potted Plant Society website for reference and posterity as they become available upon my request or invitation.
